りんごスツール / Ringo stool ( 2016 )
青森県産材のりんごの木とひばを使用し、津軽の職人が丁寧に削り出した曲線がやさしいりんごのハイスツールです。青森県弘前にある木村木品製作所と一緒に開発しました。コンセプトは、創業者の曽祖父が青森ひばで建具技術を利用して開発した、りんご栽培で使用する梯子「りんご梯子」へのオマージュと、その想いを受け継ついだ４代目が現在展開しているりんごの木による独自のプロダクトとの歴史のハーモニーです。りんご産業と共に成長してきた感謝の想いを素材とカタチに込めました。
WOOD FURNITURE JAPAN AWARD 2016 のパリと東京の展示会で展示いたしました。
Made from apple (ringo) tree and hiba cypress from Aomori Prefecture, this apple-shaped high stool is gracefully shaped by the carving of Tshgaru artisans. It was developed with Kimura Woodcraft Factory in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture. The concept for the stool was to pay homage to the ladders used for apple cultivation, as developed by the designer's great-grandfather in Hiba, Aomori. Inheriting this idea, the history forms a harmony with the fourth-generation family member's own line of apple-tree products in the present day. This sence of gratitude that has grown alongside the apple industry is incorporated into the materials and shape.
